Design and adaptation of the MBUX 2.0 system for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. This study considers the HMI user experience for both manual and self-driving modes.

Consider a situation where you're low on fuel and need to lend your car to a relative who must fill it up and receive the virtual key. How do you manage, especially mid-journey? Based on such scenarios, this analysis identifies MBUX 2.0 limitations and user pain points in line with role design, aiming to improve user experience.

Based on comprehensive data research and vehicle reviews, we've compiled suggestions for enhancing the S-Class Mercedes-Benz HMI

·Problem Statement

Imagine a scenario where:You don't have much fuel in your car right now, but your child/relative, who needs to borrow your car, needs to fill it up nearby and pass the car's virtual key to your child/relative, while at the same time arcing to let him/her know.

What should you do, especially as most of the above actions take place in the middle of a journey?

Based on comprehensive data research and vehicle reviews, we've compiled suggestions for enhancing the S-Class Mercedes-Benz HMI.

·Macro Research

·Comparison of the stock of conventional petrol vehicles as well as electric vehicles.

Based on financial reports, we've compared Mercedes-Benz's annual revenue with BMW and Volkswagen. The data shows Mercedes-Benz's exceptional competitiveness among the top three.

Based on certain research on the willingness of different age groups to buy a car, it was concluded thatGen X,executivesand Baby boomer are the main users of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

At the same time, we realized that electric cars might also be one of the target vehicles for the target group; based on the author's personal life experience, a detailed study of the data on distractions causing crashes showed that the rates of  operating radio controls and using a sat-nav were 42% and 33%   respectively.

We have also compiled a summary of the year-onyear revenue of  Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen, based on their financial reports; based on the above chart it is clear that Mercedes-Benz is exceptionally competitive in the upper three.

Based on the macro survey, we conducted micro-level research on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class in conjunction with the current media (research based on major vehicle review media, for reference only)

Scenario: While driving a nearly empty car, navigate to a gas station using in-car navigation. Simultaneously, send the virtual key PIN code via the Benz App to the potential borrower (son, daughter, relative, colleague) through SMS. Meanwhile, connect the phone to in-car Bluetooth to inform them.

We have also seen that there are many people who get into accidents while driving because of distractions caused by looking at the centre screen, and since the S-class customers themselves are mainly middle-aged or elderly, and their own attention span is in a period of decline, I, as a UX designer, venture to assume that

The future of in-car navigation should not be overly large and widened centre screen size, but should be presented in front of the driver's seat, the side of the AR, directly appear "head-up guidance", so as to maximize the protection of the driver's life safety.

And the main user group of Mercedes-Benz S-class vehicle users compared to other consumer groups, the priority keywords to buy this car is: safety, privacy, comfort.
